Japanese soccer player most famous for his time with teams like Jubilo Iwata in J. League Division 2. He won the J. League Cup and Suruga Bank Championship titles with Jubilo Iwata in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
He played for Yoshida High School in Hiroshima, Japan and began his youth soccer career with Sanfrecce Hiroshima Youth in 1981.
He has represented his native Japan in tournaments like the 2004 Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup.
In a controversial decision, Japan's TBS network aired an interview with his mother asking to her to answer for her son, who had missed a key penalty kick against Paraguay at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
