Canadian singer and actress best know as the lead singer of 80s music trio Vanity 6. She passed away in 2016.
As a teenager, she modeled for local beauty pageants. She won Miss Nigeria Hospitality in 1977.
Born Denisa Katrina Matthews, she began going by Vanity in 1980 after her mentor, Prince , gave her the nickname.
She dated Prince from 1980-1983 and Nikki Sixx from 1983-1986. She was married to Oakland Raiders player Anthony Smith from 1995 to 1996.
She starred in Action Jackson in 1988, opposite Sharon Stone .
