ABOUT STEPHEN B. SHEPARD
American business journalist who was the inaugural dean of the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism and was editor-in-chief of BusinessWeek from 1984 to 2005.
He attended City College of New York and later got his Master's degree from Columbia University.
He also established a fellowship for students at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
He married NewsWeek editor Lynn Povich in 1979.
He became a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, alongside fellow journalist Tom Brokaw .
