ABOUT SHAHABUDDIN AHMED

The 11th President of Bangladesh who first held the office from 1990 to 1991 on the heels of a popular uprising against President Hussain Mohammad Ershad. He was President again from 1996 to 2001.

He earned a degree in International Relations from the University of Dhaka in 1952.

He was the Chief Justince of Bangladesh from 1990 to 1995.

He and his wife, Anowara Begum, have three daughters and two sons.

He was succeeded by Badruddoza Chowdhury as President of Bangladesh in 2001.
