ABOUT RUPERT MURDOCH

Notorious media mogul who built a global empire of newspapers, TV, and movies through holding company News Corporation.  Some of the publications he controlled includes The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, and The Sun.

He worked as the editor of the Daily Express newspaper. By 1953, he was managing News Limited, which he inherited from his father.

He resigned as News International director in 2012, following the phone-hacking scandal that brought his business practices under U.S. and U.K. scrutiny.

He was born to Elisabeth and Keith Murdoch . He was married twice before wedding Wendi Deng in 1999. In 2013 he filed for divorce from Deng. He then married Jerry Hall in 2016. He has a total of six children: James , Lachlan, Elisabeth, Purdence, Chloe and Grace.  He got engaged to Ann Lesley Smith when he was 92 years old.  Rupert soon after called off the engagement.

He formed a close alliance with conservative prime minister Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s.
