Prior to beginning his music career, he graduated from University of dar es salama in 2005.

He has grown insanely popular on Instagram sharing promotional photos and videos. His account, romyjons, has earned more than 5 million followers.

In addition to Diamond, he has a sister named Esma. His parents are Abdul Juma and Sanura Kasimu.
