Singer and songwriter known for his falsetto voice, jazz chords, lo-fi textures, and dark, soulful drums. He became famous for his 2014 SoundCloud demo Only Trying 2 Tell U. His popular songs include "Falling Down," "Lust," "Want Me," "Moon Undah Water," and "(She's) Just a Phase."

He had his first drum lesson when he was aged seven. He taught himself guitar as a child.

In June 2017, he released his debut EP titled Swum Baby. In 2021, he released his debut album titled In Praise of Shadows.

His real name is Jacob Allen. His father was a trombonist and his mother was a flutist. The music video for his song "Velvet Leaves" features home footage of him and his younger sister as toddlers.
