ABOUT PETE EDOCHIE

Nigerian actor who is well respected and critically acclaimed for his role in the 1980s NTA adaptation of Chinua Achebe's best selling novel Things Fall Apart where he played the lead role of Okonkwo.

He got into radio broadcasting in 1967 at the age of 20 as a junior programs assistant. Soon after, he was elevated to the level of a Director. He then began to pursue acting, leading to a successful career.

In 2009, he was kidnapped for ransom and was later released by his captors unharmed.

He was born and raised in Enugu, Nigeria.

In 2005, the Actor's guild placed him along with several other actors including Genevieve Nnaji , Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde , Nkem Owoh , and Ramsey Nouah on a one year ban from filming after they discovered they were collecting huge fees due to their celebrity status.
