ABOUT MICHAEL GARDINER
Former Australia Rules Football player known for playing with the West Coast Eagles and the St. Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League. He was notorious for his off-field controversies involving other players and non-players.
He played junior Australia rules football for the Royals Football Club. He later played for Claremont Football Club in the WAFL before being drafted in the AFL.
He was only 17 years old when he was the number one pick in the 1996 National Draft. He played with the West Coast Eagles until he was traded to St. Kilda in 2006. He struggled with injuries for many seasons and retired in 2011.
He was born in Albany, Australia. He was married to Danielle McCann in 2009.
He was involved in many off-field controversies with teammate Ben Cousins while playing with the West Coast Eagles.
