He started dancing in 1991 and entered tournaments a year later.

His dance partner became Tatjana Kuschill in 2007. They were second in the German dance rankings by 2008.

He married Rebecca Mir in 2015. They met on Let's Dance 2012.

He and Raul Richter are both Germans who appeared on Let's Dance.
