Art Nouveau and Aesthetic stained-glass artist, jeweler, and silversmith. He was the most prominent American in both movements.
He received most of his formal education through military academies.
His designs for stained-glass windows, lamps, glass mosaics, blown glass, ceramics, jewelry, enamels, and metalwork were admired and greatly desired.
He had three daughters with his wife Louise Wakeman Knox.
He and Aubrey Beardsley both made significant contributions in the area of Art Nouveau.
