She received her education from the University of Northern Iowa.

In addition to her coverage of auto racing, she covered events like the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, the Kentucky Derby, and the World Series.

She married Phillip Kelley in 2010.

She and drummer Bill Stewart both studied at the University of Northern Iowa.
