Kathleen Flores
ABOUT KATHLEEN FLORES
Former American national rugby union player and coach. She was head coach of the American national women's rugby team from 2002 to 2011. She also coached rugby at Brown University and the Providence Women's Rugby team.
She played basketball and threw javelin for the track and field team at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. She discovered rugby while getting her master's degree from Florida State University .
She made her debut on the then-unofficial American national women's rugby team in 1986. She played rugby for the Berkeley All Blues starting in 1994 before retiring as a rugby player to focus on coaching in 1998.
She died of colon cancer in October 2021 at the age of 66.
She and Georgia Page have both been female rugby players.
