ABOUT KATE PILLSBURY
Singer and guitarist known as a member of the indie band The Crane Wives. Their song "The Moon Will Sing" has accumulated more than 40 million streams on Spotify. She formed the group with Emilee Petersmark while they were working together in a Chinese restaurant in Michigan.
She graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Spanish.
She is also an artist and a ceramicist. She worked as a freelance writer for On the Town Magazine.
She is from Michigan.
Her group The Crane Wives made news headlines in 2011 when Colin Meloy had his picture taken with their Safe Ship Harbored album cover. It prompted others to mimic the pose.
