ABOUT JHON JAIRO VELáSQUEZ
Nicknamed "Popeye", he was a medium level hitman infamous for his work done on behalf of the Medellin Cartel. He confessed to more than 250 killings and multiple kidnappings during his 23 year prison sentence in Colombia before his 2014 probationary release.
He was first admitted to the Colombian National Army before leaving to enter the school of apprentices for the Colombian Navy.
After his prison release, he took to YouTube activism on his eponymous channel, where he provided outspoken commentary on Colombian political issues. He earned more than 1.1 million subscribers there.
He was originally born and raised in Yarumal, Antioquia, Colombia.
He was loyal to the infamous drug kingpin and head of the Medellin cartel Pablo Escobar .
