ABOUT JAGTAR SINGH HAWARA
Indian militant belonging to the Sikh terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa. He was convicted as a conspirator in the assassination of 12th Chief Minister of Punjab, Beant Singh , in 1995. He was sentenced to life imprisonment.
As a child, he became aware of atrocities inflicted on the Sikh people and wanted to join the fight.
In 2004, he and two other prisoners escaped from maximum security jail. He was recaptured in 2005.
In 2005, he married Balwinder Kaur.
He is one of many infamous people who have joined terrorist organizations, including Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi .
