ABOUT JACK JOHNSON

Singer-songwriter known for his acoustic guitar-based folk rock songs. He first gained attention for his 2001 debut album Brushfire Fairytales. His best known songs include "Upside Down," " Better Together ," and "Banana Pancakes."

He graduated with a degree in film from UC Santa Barbara . He was inspired to pursue music after listening to Jimi Hendrix .

In 2006, he was nominated for two Grammy Awards: Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

He married his college sweetheart Kim Johnson on July 22, 2000. The couple has three children together. He had a daughter named Mindee in February 2023.

He featured Ben Harper on the song "With My Own Two Hands," from his 2006 album Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George.
