ABOUT FRED ST-GELAIS

Known for composing music for such television shows as Degrassi: The Next Generation, Canadian Idol, and Instant Star, he also sang lead vocals and played the guitar for a Canadian band called Hépatite B. Additionally, he produced and co-wrote singer Marie-Mai 's Felix Award-winning album Dangereuse Attraction.

He began his career as a nightclub singer and musician. After moving to Montreal in the late 1990s, he worked with such musicians as Rex Goudie, David Usher , and Celine Dion .

He earned a 2010 Juno nomination for his music production work.

A native of Chibougamau, Quebec, he later settled in the city of Montreal. He was married to pop singer Marie-Mai from 2011 until 2016.

He performed with fellow Canadian artists Sarah McLachlan and Sheryl Crow .
