Co-founded modeling agency Ford Models, which redefined feminine beauty and was one of the pioneer modeling agencies.

She worked as a secretary, stylist, copywriter, and reporter.

Her list of models featured such notable celebrities as Jerry Hall , Christie Brinkley , Rene Russo , Kim Basinger , Janice Dickinson , and Lauren Hutton .

She married Gerard W. Ford in November 1944 and she had four children named Katie, Billy, Lacey and Jaime. She and Gerard co-founded Ford Models in 1946.

Her agency represented Martha Stewart when she was modeling in the early 1960s.
