Actor best known for his role as Stiles on MTV's Teen Wolf . He also starred as Thomas in the Maze Runner films and as the character Caleb in the 2016 film Deepwater Horizon . Additionally, he was cast as the lead in the 2017 film American Assassin .

He gained a large internet following by making YouTube videos. He originally wanted to pursue sports broadcasting.

He also starred in The First Time (2012) and High Road (2011). He played drums in a band called Slow Kids at Play. Growing up, his favorite show was " Friends ."

He has one older sibling named Julia and his parents are named Lisa and Patrick. He dated actress Britt Robertson from 2011 until 2018. In 2024, he was romantically linked to Rachael Lange .
