ABOUT DICK HUTCHERSON
NASCAR racer competed in the 1960s and then opened up a renowned chassis-building shop in Charlotte.
He won the International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) circuit championships in 1963 and '64.
After retiring from driving, he became a crew chief for David Pearson in his championship seasons, and he also formed a race car building business with Eddie Pagan.
He was born in Keokuk, Iowa, called the 'home of the champions' - its other famous racers include Don White and Ramo Scott.
His customized race cars were used by championship drivers like A.J. Foyt and Darrell Waltrip.
