Composer best known as the house composer for the video game company Rare from 1985 to 2009. He is known for his iconic scores for games like Donkey Kong Country.
He learned to play the piano, drums, and trumpet as a young man before pursuing a composing career.
He resigned from Rare to create his own personal studio called the David Wise Sound Studio in 2009.
His parents were big fans of classical music.
He and Street Fighter II composer Yoko Shimomura have been two of video gaming's most famous composers.
