Famous as the son of R&B singer knowles.html">Solange Knowles and the nephew of multi-Grammy-winning vocalist Beyonce , he was born when his mother was seventeen years old. His full name is Daniel Julez Smith Jr. He'd go on to become a model, making his debut for the Luar collection during New York Fashion Week 2024.

A year and a half before Daniel Julez's birth, his mother released her debut album Solo Star. The year her son was born, Knowles also launched an acting career, appearing in the comedy movie Johnson Family Vacation and in an episode of the series One on One .

Solange Knowles' 2008 album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams features a track titled "6 O'Clock Blues" that was dedicated to her then-four-year-old son.

He was born in Houston, Texas, but spent his childhood in Los Angeles, California; Moscow, Idaho; and New Orleans, Louisiana. His father, Daniel Smith, and his mom married in 2004 but divorced in 2007.
His mother later married Alan Ferguson .

He is the first cousin of Blue Ivy Carter .
