ABOUT CORRIE TEN BOOM
Author of The Hiding Place, a 1971 memoir that details her family's efforts to hide Jews during the Holocaust and her imprisonment after being discovered by the Nazis. Her most well-known book is called The Hiding Place.
In 1924, she became the first licensed female watchmaker in the Netherlands.
After being released from a concentration camp where she had been imprisoned for hiding Jews, she established a rehabilitation center for Holocaust survivors.
She had two sisters, Betsie and Nollie, and a brother, Willem.
Her famous memoir was made into a film that featured Julie Harris in the role of Betsie Ten Boom.
