ABOUT CHRIS WATSON

Australian politician who was elected the third Prime Minister of Australia in 1904. He was the first Prime Minister from the Australian Labour Party.

He was apprentice to a printer at age 13 before moving to Sydney and working for several newspapers.

He served in state parliament for seven years before serving in federal parliament.

He married seamstress Ada Jane Low in 1889.
