ABOUT BARRY STRACHAN GARDINER

Award winning member of Parliament for Brent North of the United Kingdom since 1997. He is a member of the Labour Party. He served from from 2016 to 2020 as the Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change and Shadow Secretary of State for International Trade.

He attended Harvard University . He previously worked in shipping insurance and arbitration.

He became the youngest mayor in the city of Cambridge's 800-year history in 1992. He won the Padma Shri of India in 2020.

He married Caroline Anne Smith. His father John Gardiner is an Olympic soccer player. His mother is an award winning surgeon.

He succeeded by Emily Thornberry in the position of Shadow Secretary of State for International Trade.
