ABOUT ALEXANDRE DA SILVA MARIANO
Defensive midfielder known for winning bronze at the '96 Summer Olympics with Brazil's national team. He played for over a dozen club teams in Brazil, Italy, Turkey. and Australia over a 20-year career.
He began his career playing with the Brazilian team Palmeiras in 1992. He appeared in 244 matches with Palmeiras before they sold him to the Italian team Parma in 1996.
He worked as a gravedigger before becoming a soccer player. He began playing with Brazil's national team in 1995 and he participated in the 1996 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
He is widely known as Amaral. He was born in Capivari, Brazil. He has a daughter named Maria Takemura.
