ABOUT AKIHIRO HINO
Entrepreneur known for founding the video game company Level-5, which made games such as Dark Cloud, Dark Chronicle, and Professor Layton and the Curious Village.
He worked for Riverhillsoft in the early 90s and helped create the OverBlood series. He founded Level-5 in 1998.
He played video games growing up and cited that experience as inspiration for working in the industry. He was particularly fond the Game & Watch series.
He grew up in Omuta, a city on the southern end of Japan.
He collaborated with Yuji Horii on Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.
