ABOUT ADEBAYO FALETI

Host who held the titles of Africa's inaugural news presenter, Africa's pioneering theatrical director, and Nigeria's first film editor and librarian. He also played a key role in the launch of Western Nigeria Television (WNTV), which became the first TV station in Africa. He was an accomplished poet, journalist, and writer, as well as a prominent figure in the Nigerian film industry, serving as a director and actor in Nollywood films.

From an early age, he had an enthusiasm for drama. However, due to insufficient income, his parents were unable to finance his education to pursue this passion. As a result, he chose to postpone his primary education.

He took on the task of translating Nigeria's National Anthem from English into Yoruba, his native language.

He was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He was the eldest son of his father, Joseph Akanbi Faleti, and the sole child of his mother, Durowade Ayinke Faleti. On July 23rd, 2017, he passed away at his Ojoo residence in Ibadan shortly after participating in a brief morning devotion with his family.

He was an African newscaster like Yamiche Alcindor .
